25th March, 2016
Dear brothers and sisters,
The three language congregations had their annual general meetings respectively on 20th March, reporting their work in the past year and electing the new committee. We counted and thanked God’s blessings for last year, reflected on our weakness and prayed for grace and strength from God.
Praise the Lord for the growth of the English Young Adult Fellowship (YAF). YAF is a fellowship for young people working in different professions. They meet up for spiritual growth, they support and pray for each other against challenges and pressure from work. Some Cantonese or Putonghua speaking young adults also joined the YAF this year, enriching the fellowship and its mission!
More brothers and sisters have joined the Cantonese visitation. We experience God’s grace in each visitation and each team. The love of Jesus Christ began a good work in His disciples to share the gospel and people are willing to join various meetings in the church.
The church’s greatest breakthrough in 2015-16 was the division of Chinese school into Cantonese and PTH classes. The Saturday PTH ministry is indeed a miracle. I pray for all Chinese school students and parents who come to church every Saturday. It’s the Lord’s grace to see the spiritual growth of the PTH group and their willingness to serve, with support from the Cantonese and English groups, they help the children grow healthily and happily. The Sunday Chinese school is also a blessing. With the increase of space, teaching and learning take place more efficiently. The Parents Corner and Bible studies are also quietly serving the Chinese community every Sunday.
In counting God’s blessings, His greatest work is in each disciple. He gives us a church, so that we can “worship God, love each other, spread the Gospel and serve our community”.
Those alive from the death offer yourselves to God!
Happy Easter!
In Him,
Sam Wong
