13th May, 2016
Dear brothers and sisters,
Fooleong, our beloved brother and faithful co-worker, had gone with the Lord.
I got a phone call from Janet on 9th May, Brother Fooleong was taken from the Lord in the hospital. Everyone was shocked and sad by the sudden news. Life on earth is so fragile and helpless. True, life is not in our calculations and plans but in the hands of the Lord. We cannot boast anything but live with a trembling and humble heart.
I still remember the scene when the family of four came to Cardiff from Coventry. They have come and enriched our fellowship and ministries. Fooleong was the PTH co-ordinate for the first three terms. Since coming to Britain for education and Medical training,
Fooleong left his Chinese in Malaysia. In order to serve more efficiently, he started using the Chinese Bible for his daily quiet time. ‘To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews.’ This is Paul’s example to us.
Fooleong served as the Mission Secretary for many years. His wisdom and sound judgment helped the mission ministry in its direction and decision making. He fell ill and left the ministry, but he still study diligently on the rise and doctrines of Islam. I was much benefited from his sharing and discussion.
Fooleong also contributed a lot to the PTH couples fellowship and Working People Bible Study. The family have good friends in all the language groups. Fooleong fell ill, many brothers and sisters have walked by his side through this spiritual warfare. We are not afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, and we will fight on.
We feel sad at his departure from the earth, but we long for the eternal home in heaven, there, God will wipe every tear from our eyes, there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
As a family, let us remember Janet, Joshua and Hannah in our prayers, and walk alongside with them on the path to our Heavenly Home!
Let’s meet each there and see you again!
In Him,
Sam Wong
