25th October 2014

Dear brothers and sisters,

Enoch and Gloria got married in the Lord’s grace and people’s blessings last Saturday. They started a new family, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, witnessing the salvation and abundant life from God.  25.10.14.1

The differences between man and woman is an obstacle to a happy marriage, it’s often mentioned in the pre-marriage counselling, yet to truly understand and to work together on these differences can only be experienced through marriage life. God’s plan on these differences is to help us think of ourselves with sober judgment. Another obstacle is to see the sinful nature of oneself. When we meet the Lord in every Sunday’s Service and daily quiet time, we can see our weaknesses hiding in our daily life, and our spouse is the one who sees these most clearly. The Lord grants us a spouse to help us with our spiritual well-being.

The street protest on political reform in Hong Kong has lasted for a month. I passed by Mongkok last Monday night and saw people gathering in large and small groups, voicing their opinions on politics and targets. The lengthy street occupation has started to affect the citizens and their daily lives.25.10.14.2

The dialogue between the officials and students was live broadcasted last Tuesday, to let people think about the future of Hong Kong. We pray for more dialogues, to end this stage of movement safely, and we continue to pray for the authority for wisdom, ability and courage to deal with this political crisis.

Jonah prayed to God inside the fish, ‘To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit.’ (Jonah 2:6)

Please continue to pray for Hong Kong!
In Him
