Dear brothers and sisters,
The Sketch ‘Repent’ Gospel Meetings were held on Monday and Tuesday. All the actors and the back stage crew were doing their best, acting out the hard life of Chinese in Britain, drawing resonance from the audience who suggested that we should add a meeting in the day time to cater for the elderly.
Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17) A man cannot repent unless he knows his problems. Many people deny their problems and waste their lives and deny Jesus, what a shame! The characters in the sketch have got the greatest blessing in life: the whole household believe in Christ and walk the path to heaven together.
The General Election of Britain will be held in May. The Cantonese group held a workshop on ‘Christians and Politics’ on Wednesday. Politics is the theory and practice of governing other people. A country with a good political system provides a safe environment for the people, and vice versa. Christians are a people of the Heavenly Kingdom and citizens of an earthly country at the same time. Our mission is to spread the gospel and we have to serve the community with love.
We are British Chinese, we pay attention to the British politics and concern for the situations of Chinese in the four regions across the Straights of China, remembering them in our prayers.
“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7)
In Christ,
Sam Wong
