Dear brothers and sisters,

chinesesch1After a questionnaire and 2 months of prayers, in the Teachers Meeting on 15/3, it’s decided that the time of the Putonghua Chinese School will be moved to 11am to 1pm on Saturdays, while the Cantonese will keep to 2-4pm on Sundays.

The increase of students and various ministries have brought pressure to the arrangement of church meetings. This is the grace and blessing from the Lord, and we face the challenge with joy.

We cannot hold all meetings on Sundays. The most important meeting on Sunday is the Sunday Service, when the congregation meets together to draw close to the Lord, to worship Him with songs, prayers, offering and God’s Word. It’ll be a great opportunity to outreach the students and their parents on Saturday. We pray for more saved souls and we also pray for more servants.

churchWe discussed the arrangement of the Sunday Service in the Putonghua Council Meeting on Tuesday 17/3. Since the time change from 9.30am to 12.30pm, the number of number has increased obviously. But being sandwiched between the Cantonese Service and the Chinese School, the time is tight, and the quality and Service and Fellowship is affected. We discussed the possibility of moving the Service to 1.30pm, so the different groups can meet after the Service in the Main Hall and the Side Hall.

‘And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.’ (Phil 1:9-11)

In Christ,
Sam Wong
