6th September 2014
Dear brothers and sisters,
Friends from different places uploaded pictures of the moon this Mid-autumn Festival, is the moon rounder overseas or brighter in the homeland? The Moon Festival always causes homesick for overseas Chinese.
‘When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?’ (Ps 8:3-4)
We held an evangelistic meeting to celebrate the Moon Festival in Happy Gathering Restaurant last Monday. Old friends and new friends sat around 14 tables, guessing lantern riddles, listening to Chinese Opera, Hymns, and a talk on the love and redemption of Jesus by Mr Rocky Wong. We invited everyone to join the evangelistic meetings on 22-23 Sept. Please remember this in prayers. Preach the word, in season or out of season. (2Tim 4:2)
We’re very happy that Mr Peter Lee will officially start his ministry on 15th September. Please remember their move to a new environment in prayers, pray for their physical and spiritual health. Pray also for the growth and development of the English congregation.
We also continue to pray for a Putonghua co-worker. ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’ (Matt 9:37-38)
In Christ,
Sam Wong
