Dear brothers and sisters,
Summer has come, the weather is too beautiful for the hay-fever sufferers to bear!
The Fujian fellowship with over 100 people including children visited the ‘Noah’s Ark’ in 2 coaches on 7/4. Some families applied late and couldn’t get a place. Both the weather and the scenery were wonderful, all participants enjoyed themselves so much that they were reluctant to leave. Praise the Lord for His protection and care.
The Olive Tree Youth Fellowship held the church’s second Sports Day on 12/4 Saturday. Apart from the Cantonese Student Fellowship, the Putonghua Student Fellowship also took part in this year’s event. The most interesting Group Competition was the ‘Nine people with ten feet’, involving the cooperation of each team member. The team that started first could become the last to finish. Everyone both boys and girls strived to win in the Tug-of-war. There were also competitions on long jump, high jump, skipping and badminton. They’re all so brilliant. It’s a shame that we didn’t have enough time to finish all the events. But this is really a very good opportunity for the different groups to get to know each other. Friendship is always before competition.
We held the AGM after the combined Sunday Service on 13/4. We thank the Lord for His providence and guidance in the last year on all the three language congregations. We’re still lack of people to serve though there’re more brothers and sisters serving. Let us build the body of Christ and attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ in the coming year.
‘to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.’ (Eph 4:12-13)
In Him,
Sam Wong
