Dear brothers and sisters,
We might feel lonely sometimes while living in a tent on earth, so it’s a joy meeting companions on the way sharing and praying with each other.
The pastoral workers of the South West had a prayer meeting in Swindon Chinese Christian Church on 23/4, sharing earnestly on every aspect of life and praying. The Swindon brothers prepared a delicious lunch for us, followed by a workshop on ‘Worship of the Contemporary Music’ by Irene. Mrs Wong gave us her homemade tofu before we left. We went there empty-handed but returned home fully loaded!
COCM held a Retreat for the UK pastoral workers on 27-28/4. It’s a good time to rest and quiet down in our busy ministries. It’s also a good time to catch up with oldies. I was happy to meet Xin-ting (ex-CCCCer in the 80s)and her husband there, bringing back a lot of memories. Praise the Lord, they’re now serving the Putonghua community in Nottingham faithfully, spreading the gospel and strengthening Christians.
I’m happy to get to know a few young COCM workers in the Retreats. They had served quietly in both the Gambling Rehabilitation Conference and the Pastoral Retreat to ensure the smooth running of all programs.
‘For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.’ (Romans 14;17,19)
In Him,
Sam Wong
