Dear brothers and sisters,230915a

I find it very hard to remember the years of the ex-CCCCers. Some oldies of the early 90s went hiking together. On Saturday 12/9 afternoon, we set off from Po Lam and crossed the ‘Duckie Hill’ to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. There were well-maintained steps and hand-rails all along the steep slopes, and we met many hikers all the way. It’s refreshing looking down from the hill top.

We shared with each other about how to maintain a good health, and we also tried to understand the Hong Kong people and happenings of the new century. Arriving the HKUST, we could see groups of freshers in the campus, talking excitedly on different topics. As expected, many spoke in Putonghua, which I felt so familiar with.

230915bWingtin has got an ‘Extraordinary Life’ trophy in the 2015 Election of the 10 Regenerated Warriors. We attended their ceremony on 13//9 afternoon. These regenerated warriors have different physical disabilities due to congenital defect or severe illnesses or accidents, having to struggle on a rough path with intolerable hardship. But with the encouragement of families and friends, the care from the medical team, they witnessed a ‘regenerated’ life. These regenerated warriors are aged between 19 and 76, their experience has encouraged all attendances.

Hearing the sharing of the honorary president on the various difficulties he’s facing, I thought of every healthy man. The path of life is also full of difficulties and adversities, we have to cherish life with faith, love and hope. ‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’

In Him,
Sam Wong
