Dear brothers and sisters,
We’ve got many children and babies in the church. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ (Matt 19:14)
We had a ‘Baby Dedication’ in last Sunday’s Combined Service. The baby cried when I held her, indicating that I need more practice.
‘Baby Dedication’ is for Christian parents to show their thanks for God’s grace and make a vow before everyone, understanding that ‘Children are a heritage from the LORD,
offspring a reward from Him.’ (Ps 127:3) Christian parents come to the Lord with reverence and humility, looking upon the Lord for mercy and grace, in this wicked generation, ‘Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.’ (Prov 22:6)
Being Christian parents, we hope that our children can grow healthily and believe in Jesus and love His Word, and in favour of both God and man. Every Sunday, when we come to the church, let us spend a little time with the young children, to show them some concern and to pray for them.
Rev Kan from Hong Kong came to Cardiff to promote the Men’s Ministry last Thursday, sharing the experience of the establishment and growth of the Hong Kong Men’s groups, which play a part in church growth and evangelization. Man is usually under a lot of pressure quietly. Facing the Middle Age Crisis and Retirement Crisis, they need to have companies on the way. These Men’s groups do not only help and share and pray for each other, but also reach out to non-believers.
Let all the men in our church join a Men’s group to stimulate one another to love and good deeds!
Peace be with you!
In Him,
Sam Wong
