15th April, 2016

Dear brothers and sisters,

I went upstairs after last Sunday’s PTH Service and tea time for the last lesson of the Baptismal class. As I finished the opening prayer, my phone rang.

15042016_1‘Do you remember you’re speaking in Newport today?’ Cherry asked anxiously, ‘Of course I do, after the Baptismal class,’ I said. ‘They start at 3 pm, and it’s now 2.40 already.’

My heart dropped, how
can that be? I apologised to them and rushed to Newport immediately. I went to Newport after the Baptismal class in February, how comes everything changed in April? Sorry, mates, you came to the class with a hungry stomach and an eager spirit and I disappointed you, I’ll pay you back 4 times coming Sunday! I love the Newport brothers and sisters. They meet and worship the Lord faithfully every Sunday.

15042016_2I love your favourite song, ‘Be Thou my Vision’; and I love ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ the opening song sung every Sunday, this song brings me a lot of memories. From the parables of Jesus, some people discover a treasure by chance, some try very hard to find the pearl, while others are caught in the net of love by the Lord. Those who understand will leave everything behind without a haste to get the most precious gift in life, to witness life with life, because we don’t just live to exist but to live a life to eternity.

I started a 5-weekly ‘Faith foundation class’ on Monday morning, to cater the newly converted Christians and those who seek the truth, to also encourage believers to learn to care and support in the Bible Study group. We’ve got some new comers in our midst in the last two months. They know our church through their friends or from the church website. Let us serve them with faith and wisdom.

Peace be with you!

In Him,
Sam Wong
