Dear brothers and sisters,
‘It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting’ (Eccl 7:2) I went to a funeral service for an elderly sister from Newport Fellowship last Wednesday. She was born in Guangdong and came to South Wales when she was young and got married. She had lived 95 years and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She came to know the Lord in Newport and was baptized. We feel sad being separated with our loved ones, but the Spirit comforted us through His Word. Those who died in the Lord left their burdens on earth and rested in the Lord. The most important and precious thing in life is to know the Lord and to trust in Him always.
Time flies. The Friday morning café started celebrating the Chinese New Year on 29/1, followed by other Bible Study Groups on Monday and Tuesday. All the delicious food prepared by the love of brothers and sisters filled everyone physically and spiritually. Many thanks for your blessings and surprises.
The Youth Group has moved to the Church Main Hall from Llandaff Hall. Oh, how comes that those little kids have suddenly grown up!
In the Cantonese Council meeting, we prayed for more people to serve in different ministries. ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.’ (1 Tim 4:12)
The Chinese New Year is coming. Let us all forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead, be a new creation and abide in the Lord all our life!
In Him,
Sam Wong
