8th January, 2016
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the New Year Day Service, we expressed our determination to worship the Lord every Sunday with fellow Christians wherever we are, to remember our Saviour and Lord of life, the Lord Jesus Christ, who rose from death on the first day of the week. We prayed that we can be physically and spiritually healthy to keep our promise.
‘In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…’ (Heb 1:2) The Lord Jesus Christ, the Word became flesh, is the true light, the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. He is our Saviour, had provided purification for sins. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Every knee shall bow and every mouth confess, ‘Christ is Lord.’
Praise the Lord, the three language groups gathered together on the first Sunday of 2016 to worship the Lord and observe the Lord’s Supper. He has risen and he will come again!
‘Are the angels not all ministering spirits…’ (Heb 1:14) but our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the first born, the anointed Messiah, the Eternal Lord!
I was deeply moved when I read the Christmas cards at home myself, feeling grateful for the hand-written greetings! I’ll keep them for Cherry.
And in the beginning of 2016, I thought of a song by Rev Simpson, Himself, ‘Once it was the blessing, now it is the Lord.’
Wishing you good health physically and spiritually in 2016, all for the Lord!
In Him,
Sam Wong
