7th February 2015
Dear brothers and sisters,
I did not worship with you for the last two Sundays though I’m in Britain, and I missed you.
I was privilege to be invited to take part in the Swindon Thanksgiving Service for the Retirement of their Reverend and the Inauguration of the new pastor on 1st February.
Swindon Chinese Christian Church is a special church. There are no universities to attract Chinese students from overseas, but there are good job opportunities around the city, so many graduates come over there. The Chinese population is around 1000. They started gospel work there in the 80s, and established the church in the 90s. Rev Caleb Wong started ministering the church in the beginning of 2000s, equipping believers to serve in different areas, purchasing a church building and preaching the gospel. The Lord’s blessings are abundant and His power is shown. I thank and praise the Lord for them.
I spoke in the Plymouth Chinese Christian Fellowship Sunday Service on 25th January. The universities there have recruited over 25,000 students, and many come from China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The students coming to the Fellowship are willing to learn, some received the Lord and had follow-up and learnt to serve, but there are not many job opportunities, so students came and left, come and go. The Chinese Christian Fellowship was established in the 90s. They are still preaching the gospel and sowing the seeds faithfully today. Please remember them and the truth-seekers in prayers.
Thank you brothers and sisters for giving me a lot of surprises in this week, I sincerely thank you for your love and care. My birthday wish is to seek the Lord’s guidance to number my days on earth!
Thank you for your cards, i-cards and present, thank you for singing to me. My heart is filled with your blessings!
‘You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your carts overflow with abundance.’ (Ps 65;11)
In Christ,
Sam Wong
