Dear brothers and sisters,
One common problem of many people is teaching others. The tongue is a beautiful gift from God. We can serve the Lord if we use it wisely, but it can be disastrous if we misuse it.
I shared chapter 3 of the book of James in Monday’s Fujian Fellowship. We should speak out the truth with our tongues, because faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ. (Romans 10;17) But how can they call on the one they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? We are cowards if we don’t have the courage to speak while we should; we are selfish if we speak without love; we’d be reckless if we speak without wisdom; and we’d cause disasters if we abuse what we say.
There is a Tuesday prayer meeting after each Fujian Fellowship meeting. We pray for the new comers, the families and health and spiritual being of each other, and also the Christmas Celebration and the 2016 ministries. I thank the Lord for these faithful prayer warriors who pray every day for all the aspects of the Fujian ministry.
We started the pre-Bible-study for the Putonghua students group leaders recently, meeting every Tuesday evening. The Student Ministry is hard due to the rapid turnover of students. It’s not easy to care for the both new students and the old ones. We hope to discover the gifts of group leaders so that they can serve and care for the group members more efficiently, and to follow the example of the Berean believers: ‘They were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.’ (Acts 17:11)
May the Lord bless you through the study of His Word!
In Him,
Sam Wong
