COCM and BCEC held a Memorial Service for Rev Frank Cheung in Birmingham Christian Centre last Saturday.
Rev Cheung and Christians in the catering business formed the Chinese Christian Restaurant Evangelism Fellowship UK in 90s last century. It’s the first of similar organizations preaching the gospel to catering workers. It’s renamed as Chinese Christian Restaurant Mission to witness Christ and preach the gospel. Rev Cheung led a mission team to Cardiff in the early 90s to train Christians to visit restaurants and takeaways to share the good news with the Chinese.
Rev Cheung formed the Christian Centre for Gambling Rehabilitation in London with Peter Mak and other Christians with the same vision to help the Chinese gamblers. When I thought of Rev Cheung, I also missed Peter Mak and Rev David Cheung, they’re all with the Lord now.
I shared a room with Rev Cheung when we attended the Mission Conference in Leeds Chinese Christian Church in October 2013. I enjoyed listening to his sharing on his own experience in serving the Lord and I learnt a lot from him. He drove everywhere to proclaim the Word and build churches even in his old age and I admire him whole-heartedly.
We miss you, Rev Frank Cheung.
