Dear brothers and sisters,

The church doesn’t hold baptisms during the summer holidays. The regular baptisms are held in the Easter and Christmas Services. In God’s grace, we have baptisms in July or August in the last couple of years. Both the heaven and the earth rejoice when a sinner repents.
Four young people were baptised last Sunday, openly proclaiming Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, trusting Him and following Him for life. What a beautiful promise! They have not only known Jesus from reading the Bible, but have experienced His grace and love. I still remember how they memorized Phil 4:12-13 word by word. Let us offer all glory and praises to God and bless them.
We can gain knowledge talking to the elderly, and wisdom attending funerals. The average life span of the world population is 71 (male 68.5, female 73.5); The average life span of the Britain is 81 (male 79.5, female 82.5). Moses said in Psalm 90:10, ‘Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.’
My granddaughter witnessed her first baptism last Sunday. Someone asked me, ‘Will you baptize Carys when she’s 16?’ It’s a difficult question.
In Him,
Sam Wong
